TOTEM

is an interactive video art installation

composed of a triptych of vertical projections that react

to the viewer's presence.

Through real-time algorithmic audio and video processes,

railway landscapes are dynamically transformed

by processed symmetry.

Contours, colors, and morphologies mutate

in response to the audience’s position,

evoking benevolent or menacing entities,

much like ancestral shadows altered

the appearance of primordial totems.

By exploring velocity, dynamic perspective, and symmetry,

TOTEM

reveals how the everyday

can become a protective symbol for some

and an unsettling presence for others.

Urban elements such as cranes, buildings or trees

transcend their geographical identity

to emerge as visual convergence points,

where contemporary "values"

redefine our perception of the environment.

In a dialogue

between the immediacy of modernity and contemplation,

the work interweaves the realities

of Tokyo, Buenos Aires, and London,

blurring the boundaries between

the familiar and the foreign

while questioning

how we inhabit a world

in constant transformation.
