Oliverio H. Duhalde (1974) is a transmedia artist, bioartist, composer, sound designer, and sculptor. His work explores the dynamic relationship between sound, space, material, form, and movement. As a composer, he has created numerous orchestral, electroacoustic, chamber, and lyrical pieces for radio, theatre, film, performance, and transmedia artworks. As an artist, he has developed and exhibited
interventions, installations, performances, and sound sculptures. His practice merges traditional materials such as wood, metal, and paper with software, electricity, information, life and kinetics, creating original approaches to form, space, audience, and aesthetic experience.

ACADEMIC BACKROUND

He obtained a bachelor's degree in Orchestral Conducting from the Faculty of Arts and Musical Sciences at UCA and pursued postgraduate studies in sound production and engineering at AES. He has recently completed his doctoral thesis in Composition (compositional techniques applied to sound art) — October 2025. He created and directed the bachelor's program in Film Music at UCA, where he has served as a researcher, full professor, and Director of the Music and Technology Department. As a visual and new media artist, he participated in the artist program at Universidad Torcuato Di Tella in the workshops of Diego Bianchi and Mónica Girón, as well as in Fundación Telefónica’s Interactivos program led by Mariano Sardón and Rodrigo Alonso, among others.

PRODUCTION

In 2001, he founded Segno Soundtrack Design (www.segnosound.com), producing over 300 original soundtrack designs to date, spanning audiovisual media, theater, and installation art. As a record producer, he has produced and released 11 albums. As a concert music composer, he has premiered numerous electroacoustic, chamber, and symphonic works, as well as an opera, in Argentina, Brazil, Chile, the United States, and Europe. As a sound artist and sculptor, he has created solo and collaborative installations, interventions, and sculptures, participating in numerous exhibitions both in Argentina and abroad.
